The Martinsville Police Department is an accredited agency through the Virginia Law Enforcement Professional Standards Commission. We were first accredited in 1998 and were reaccredited in 2003, 2007, 2011, 2015, 2019, and 2023. Accreditation is the ongoing process whereby agencies evaluate policy and procedure against established criteria and have compliance with those criteria verified by an independent and authoritative body.
