Responsibilities
The Sheriff's Office is responsible for the City Jail, Court Services, and process serving in the City of Martinsville, Virginia. The office currently has approximately 60 employees and serves approximately 15,000 citizens.
Mission
We, the professional men and women of the Martinsville City Sheriff's Office are empowered to defend the Constitution of the United States and the Commonwealth of Virginia. We will fairly and diligently work to provide the most effective and safe delivery of services in the areas of court security, service of process, and execution of lawful orders of the court, by interacting with court personnel, city officials, and other law enforcement agencies to ensure a safe court services environment for our citizens.

It is a pleasure to serve as the Sheriff of the City of Martinsville and to have the privilege to lead the fine men and women of the Martinsville Sheriff's Office. Our officers are compassionate and committed to providing the most professional and fair service to all the citizens of the City of Martinsville.
All of our officers are highly trained and experienced in carrying out the duties of a Virginia Deputy Sheriff. I take pride in the diversity that we have in our Sheriff's office. We are dedicated to providing the most professional service to our citizens, our court services users, and the inmates that we care for on a daily basis.
